Biography

Lauren Rodrigues is a Music Education major with a choral emphasis. She is about to start her senior year at California Baptist University. Lauren has been singing for most of her life. She has been playing saxophone for over 10 years and plays a variety of other instruments ranging from guitar to other wind instruments.

What inspired you to go into music?

My love for band as a child and learning I loved choir in high school made me want to focus on music in college. I also have a love for leading worship which I wanted to get stronger at in school. Another reason I went into music in the first place was the fact that my grandfather was a musician. He passed when I was young but is the only other musician in my family so it’s how I stay connected with him.

What is an interesting fact about you?

I own 15 instruments. Most are different types.

What activities do you enjoy in your spare time?

I love reading in my spare time and working with my garden and plants! I also love baking specifically sourdough bread and cookies.

What are you most excited for about this 2024-2025 season?

I am excited to have more time to be in an instrumental ensemble and strengthen my saxophone skills.
