Biography
Bassoonist Nickolas Garcia is currently a music for transfer student at Riverside City College, where he studies under Cameron Domingues. He began his musical journey in 5th grade originally starting on flute and eventually made the wild choice in 9th grade to play tuba in band and flute in orchestra. Wanting to broaden his musical endeavors switched to bassoon for both orchestra and he had to drop it during Covid and my senior year and when he first started at RCC he rekindled his interest in Bassoon where he decided that he would mainly play Bassoon and hone his skills. For fun he’s in the jazz lab band at RCC doubling on Sax.
What inspired you to go into music?
Meeting new people and having it as an outlet for expression.
What is an interesting fact about you?
I have 3 woodwind instruments other than a bassoon which are an alto and tenor sax and a clarinet.
What activities do you enjoy in your spare time?
Talking to friends and playing video games when I can.
What are you most excited for about this 2024-2025 season?
Pictures at an Exhibition and Sheherazade.
